Empire State Development’s Division of Science, Technology and Innovation (NYSTAR) mission is to accelerate the growth of New York State’s high-tech economy.  NYSTAR’s programs are designed to enable new and existing businesses to become more competitive through the use of innovative technologies, and emphasize the importance of working with industry to leverage the state’s technology strengths to produce new products and, therein, new and expanded jobs in the state.

Stony Brook University offers 4 incubator facilities for start-up technology businesses. Our first and largest incubator, the Long Island High Technology Incubator, opened in 1992.
